Okay, it is way too cold for Georgia. The temperature when I took Bailey for a walk was 29 degrees. It was 10 a.m. Now that is just too arctic for the south. Brrr....well, enough complaining, on to another topic.

Since I moved here, I've been trying to learn to play bridge. I'm getting better at it and I believe it is challenge enough to the brain cells to help keep them active and multiplying. But, when you are new to the game, it is a humbling experience. There are so many aspects to bridge...bidding, remembering what you've played, what your partner played, when to lead what...it is daunting to say the least. After each bridge outing I come home and try to figure out why I keep putting myself in this uncomfortable position over and over again. I can't find a good answer except that I fantasize about becoming good at this game. I guess that goal keeps me coming back.

If anyone reading this yearns to play bridge and has a little bit of knowledge and wants to practice, check out the free games that are available online. You can play with other people or just play against the computer. It is a non-threatening way to get better at the game.

The pictures, no, they aren't of Athens. They are of California. Pretty place, isn't it?
