The studio we've been working on is just about finished. The drafting table arrived last week and the additional lighting is in place too. All that is required is inspiration to capture some of the beautiful images I've been storing up in my head since we moved here.

This area is so pretty. The skies are amazing and full of the most spectacular cloud formations. I love clouds, so these clouds have a very appreciative audience in me. I've contemplated dozens of pictures and, I already know, that when I haven't painted in awhile, I have a lot of trouble getting started.

I've read of writers who have the same problem. It can be paralyzing that blank page or canvas. And, I already know that the only way to break through the barrier is to start drawing and painting. I have one or two projects I need to complete before I can do that but maybe I'll take a little break from those and do a bit of preliminary sketching. That does sound like a not too serious approach.

I'll post some of my work when I have something I'm proud of.

Attached are a few scenes that will help inspire me.

Okay, the last picture was not taken anywhere near Georgia. I shot this right outside the little town of Moab, Utah. I would love to go back there and spend some time painting and sketching. This picture doesn't do the place justice.
