My husband and I went to an estate sale over the weekend in a place called Good Hope, Georgia. The main house is an old farm house and there were a number of other houses on the estate. It was like taking a giant step back in time. When we arrived at 10 a.m., most of the great things were gone but that was okay. We were there to take pictures and enjoy the countryside and that we did.

This was the oldest building on the estate... primitive but lovely.

A field off to the left of the main house.

This odd building housed tools and stuff.

The main house shot from the field in the previous picture.

There was a house behind the main house that was called the Loom House. Don't know if any recent residents wove but there was a huge, loom in the building. There was also an old spinning wheel. Both were not worth the asking price but it was wonderful to see the place and imagine what it was like when people were bustling around spinning and weaving.

Seeing places like this is rare anymore. The people hosting the sale said they hoped to sell all 15 acres and all four or five homes for $995.000. They were hoping someone would buy it and keep it as it is, fixing up the homes and renting them. I, tragically, see a housing development in its place.

But I will always have these photos to remember the place by...so glad I got there to capture it.

Another shot of that pretty field.
